I dedicate this website in memory of Robert Adams and Jean Dunn
I am deeply indebted to my teacher and friend, Robert Adams, as well as to Jean Dunn, also my teacher and friend. This website is dedicated to their memory.
My journey with Robert in this life lasted barely eight years. Since then my life with him has continued. I first felt his presence around me again about 8 years ago (2003), six years after he died. He moved me to create a website to honor him and his teachings. Now he is solidly part of my presence.
Jean Dunn I knew less than three years. I saw her in the flesh less than ten times but we spoke often on the phone. What I remember about her most was her acceptance of me seemingly as an equal and always encouraging. Through her, I got to know directly the presence of Nisargadatta Maharaj whose words strike many like a hammer blow, shattering the mind and misconceptions.
In many ways I feel Nisagadatta’s way of teaching and methodology is far deeper than the way prescribed by Ramana and Robert Adams, who both advocated many ways, but the foremost being self-inquiry. Nisargadatta invented a Bhaktic approach to Advaita through love and worship of one’s own sense of presence, the I Am.
However, the method of obtaining awakening the quickest, is the one I practiced with Robert---being by his side, in his company, as often as possible. He was my friend, he was my satguru. Every moment I was with him I felt a profound peace and expansion of my own beloved voidness. Jean and Nisargadatta provided me with the tools and words to touch others more deeply in many different ways.
Jai Robert Adams, Jai Jean Dunn, Jai Ramana Maharshi, and also my beloved Nisargadatta Maharaj!
